Overview

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Sales / Account Manger to join a food manufacturer based in Yeovil, Somerset.  Due to the nature & size of the business, you need to be in commutable distance to the office in Yeovil with the expectation to be present in the office 2-3 days per week.

 

The Role

The opportunity to join a fast-growing FMCG bakery business, & “own” the topline growth & related gross margin. This is not a job for the faint hearted, but you will grow with the business & be exposed to all elements of the commercial mix from managing both brand & own label sales, forecasting, margin management, NPD & gaining a wider understanding of production & supply chain. We are naturally entrepreneurial, but recognize we need support to improve our systems further & bring more structure to the business without losing our zeal & fleet of foot pace & agility.

  1. Management of Existing Customers:
  • Grow sales across a portfolio of customers, working particularly closely with M&S.
  • Optimise pricing & promotional mix to balance volumes & margins.
  • Regular communication with customers to ensure we are seen as a proactive supplier that delivers what they promise.
  • Work with the Ops team through accurate forecasting to ensure stock levels are at the right levels.
  • Manage branded Florentines & own label NPD – all year around & seasonal.
  • Work available data to create clear compelling “stories” to grow our business organically as well as win new customers.
  1. New Business Development:
  • Manage the full process from initial pipeline through to conversion & then on-going account management.
  1. NPD:
  • Project manage all NPD from initial brief to launch & beyond. This will involve following a structured approach coordinating all functions at the business to ensure there is cross functional buy in at all stages.
  • Negotiate all prices & any launch support activity.
  • Ensure all paperwork is in place for launch, both internal & external.
  1. Supply Chain:
  • Work with internal & external supply chain teams to deliver target OTIF levels.
  1. Sales Reporting & Forecasting:
  • Accurately track and be accountable for the reporting of the weekly sales & to communicate this to the wider team
  • Track sales performance against the sales budget, reporting on the over/under performance & key drivers
  • Own the internal forecasting process; accurately forecast the customer demand by product & report forecast accuracy on a monthly basis

 

The Person

  • 3 years FMCG sales experience
  • Clear demonstrable experience of managing large & small complex, demanding customers
  • Clear demonstrable experience of developing & growing a pipeline of new business, converting & managing the full process.
  • Highly numerate, accurate & ability to “convert” numbers into meaningful analysis & recommendations for action/change.
  • Clear and confident communication and presentation style
  • Strong work ethic & ability to juggle main balls at the same time.
  • An ambassador for the company: confident; adaptable and resilient; and with a hunger and passion to do your absolute best
  • Bring ideas and creativity to the role
  • High-energy, self-starter as well as collaborative team player
  • Exceptional planning and organisational skills
  • “Can do” attitude & demonstrable desire to deliver great results
